Dental Services and Your Delta Dental Coverage
Coverage depends on your specific Delta Dental plan, so the breakdown below is a general guide. After we verify your benefits, we can tell you exactly what is covered for any service we recommend.
Preventive Care
Cleanings, exams, X-rays, fluoride, and oral cancer screenings are usually the most heavily covered category. Most Delta Dental plans cover two preventive visits per year, often at 100 percent in-network with no deductible. These visits keep your overall dental costs predictable, and we make sure you do not miss them.
Fillings and Restorative Work
Tooth-colored fillings, root canals, crowns, bridges, and extractions are usually covered at 50 to 80 percent depending on the plan. Major work often has a deductible and may have a waiting period for new policyholders. We check all of this before recommending treatment.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Purely cosmetic procedures like teeth whitening and porcelain veneers are typically not covered by Delta Dental. We offer transparent self-pay pricing for cosmetic work and can explain which parts of a smile makeover may qualify as restorative under your plan.
Orthodontics
Some Delta Dental plans include an orthodontic rider with a separate lifetime maximum. Many riders apply only to dependents under a specific age. We will verify your ortho coverage before quoting braces or clear aligner treatment.
Emergency Care
Cracked teeth, dental abscesses, severe toothaches, and lost crowns are covered the same way as scheduled restorative work under most Delta Dental plans. Call our office as soon as you can. If you are an hour out, we will run your benefits while you drive in.
Sedation Dentistry
Nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation are available for anxious patients or longer procedures. Sedation coverage varies by Delta Dental plan, and we will tell you up front what your share will be.

Your First Visit at Knox Valley Dental
Plan on 60 to 90 minutes for your first appointment. We start with a conversation about your dental history, any concerns you have right now, and your Delta Dental coverage. Dr. Zaveri then performs a full exam covering your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints, and an oral cancer screening, and we take the X-rays your plan covers.
If your mouth is healthy, we follow the exam with your cleaning the same visit. If we find anything that needs work, we put together a written treatment plan with your Delta Dental coverage applied so you can see your cost up front.

Frequently Asked Questions About Delta Dental Coverage at Knox Valley Dental
Does Knox Valley Dental accept Delta Dental in Lenoir City?
Yes. We accept Delta Dental, verify benefits in advance, and file claims directly on your behalf.
Do you file Delta Dental claims for me?
Yes. We submit the claim electronically the same day and follow up with Delta Dental if anything is delayed. You only pay any remaining balance after insurance pays its portion.
What happens to unused Delta Dental benefits at year-end?
Most plans run on a calendar year, and unused benefits expire December 31. If you have outstanding work and remaining benefits in the fall, we can schedule treatment before year-end so the dollars are not wasted.
I live in Tellico Village. Are many of my neighbors patients here?
We have a steady patient base from Tellico Village and the Tellico Lake area. Several family-and-neighbor referral chains from the community have brought new patients to the practice over the years.
How long is the I-40 drive from Lenoir City?
About 20 to 25 minutes from central Lenoir City via Highway 321 to I-40 east, then I-40 to Exit 373 (Campbell Station Road).
Is I-40 traffic reliable on weekday mornings?
I-40 east from Lenoir City is generally manageable outside of rush hour. The 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. windows have heavier traffic, especially near the Watt Road weigh station and the Pellissippi interchange. We recommend allowing an extra 10 minutes during those windows.
Do you see patients from the Tellico Lake side of Loudon County?
Yes. Many of our Lenoir City patients come from the Tellico Lake and Highway 321 corridor. The drive averages 25 to 30 minutes from that side of the county.
Are you taking new Delta Dental patients from Loudon County?
Yes. Call (865) 244-2828 to book.
