Who Are We?

About Dr. Dhiren Zaveri

Dr. Dhiren Zaveri grew up in Knoxville. He spent part of his middle school years in India, where afternoons at his uncle's dental practice turned a passing curiosity into a career. He came back to the US for his graduate studies, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, and chose to come home to Knoxville to serve the community he grew up in.

He is a KOIS-trained dentist — a postgraduate curriculum in restorative and cosmetic dentistry that most practicing dentists have not completed — and practices biomimetic dentistry, meaning he works to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible before removing anything. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and attends multiple continuing education conferences each year to stay current with materials and technique.

Cosmetic work, and veneers specifically, sit at the center of what makes his practice different. He designs each case so the result looks like a healthier, more confident version of your own smile — not a uniform cosmetic overlay. Patients tell us what stands out is how much time he takes to explain what is actually happening, and that the experience feels nothing like what they expected a cosmetic dental appointment to feel like.

What porcelain veneers actually are — and what they are not

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic shells bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They address staining that whitening cannot touch, chips, uneven edges, gaps, and minor misalignment — without orthodontics and without crowning healthy teeth.

What they are not: a shortcut, a one-size result, or something that should look obviously done. A good veneer case is one where people can tell something changed but cannot tell you what. That is the standard Dr. Zaveri works toward.

Knox Valley Dental offers two veneer types:

Traditional porcelain veneers require removing a thin layer of enamel — about half a millimeter — to make room for the shell. This is permanent, which is why the consultation matters. These are the most durable option and typically last 10 to 15 years with proper care.

Minimal-prep veneers require little to no enamel reduction. They suit patients with smaller cosmetic concerns who want to preserve more of their natural tooth. Not every smile is a candidate — Dr. Zaveri will tell you honestly whether this option fits your situation.

Who is a good candidate — and who should wait

Veneers make the most sense when you have healthy teeth and gums and want to address one or more of the following:

  • Permanent staining that whitening has not resolved
  • Chips or worn edges on front teeth
  • Gaps or minor spacing issues
  • Slight crowding that does not warrant braces or aligners
  • Front teeth that are proportionally small or short relative to the rest of your smile

Active gum disease, untreated decay, very thin enamel, or a significant grinding habit are reasons to pause — not permanent disqualifiers, but things that need to be addressed before veneers go in. If Dr. Zaveri thinks bonding or clear aligners would serve you better, he will say so at the consultation. His goal is the right outcome for your mouth, not the most expensive path to it.

What the process looks like from Concord

Most veneer cases at Knox Valley Dental take two to three appointments over roughly three weeks. For Concord patients, that means two trips to Kingston Pike — or three if your case has additional prep work.

Consultation and smile design. This is the longest conversation. Dr. Zaveri examines your teeth, takes photos and digital impressions, and walks through what veneers can and cannot realistically do for your specific situation. You leave with a written cost estimate and a clear plan — no vague quotes, no surprise charges added later.

Preparation. Dr. Zaveri shapes the enamel on each tooth receiving a veneer, under local anesthesia. Digital impressions go to the lab. You wear temporary veneers while your final ones are crafted — most patients are surprised how close the temporaries look to the finished result.

Placement. Your final veneers come back from the lab, Dr. Zaveri checks fit and shade in your mouth, makes any fine adjustments, and bonds each one in place. This appointment usually runs one to two hours. You leave with your new smile the same day.

Where Are We?

Coming to Us From Concord

Concord sits along Northshore Drive between Pellissippi Parkway and Fort Loudoun Lake — one of the quieter, more established corners of west Knoxville. From most Concord addresses, our Kingston Pike office is about a ten-minute drive. Take Northshore toward Kingston Pike heading east and you are essentially there.

We notice something consistent about patients who come from Concord: they tend to arrive having already thought things through. They have looked at photos, read reviews, and come in with specific questions — not "what are veneers?" but "will this work for my situation specifically?" That is the kind of consultation Dr. Zaveri is built for. He will work through every question, tell you what is realistic, and give you a written estimate before you commit to anything.

If you live near Concord Park or keep a boat at the Marina, you know this part of Knoxville has a particular character — unhurried, considered, not easily impressed by surface-level service. We try to run the practice the same way. First visit: park in the lot, come in the front door, and Dr. Zaveri will be with you within a few minutes. No confusing medical complex, no parking deck, no long wait in a room full of strangers.

We see Concord patients for the full range of dental care, but cosmetic cases like veneers are where patients from this part of west Knoxville tend to seek us out by name. We take that seriously.

What veneers cost and how to make it work financially

The cost depends on how many veneers you need and which type fits your case. Most patients treat six to eight front teeth. Some come in needing only one or two for a specific chip or stain.

Dental insurance does not typically cover veneers because the procedure is classified as cosmetic. Knox Valley Dental works with third-party financing partners to spread the cost over time. We also offer the Adult Membership Plan — $29 per month plus a one-time $49 activation fee — which covers two cleanings, exams, and x-rays annually and includes 15 percent off cosmetic treatments like veneers.

You will receive a written estimate at your consultation. No price surprises after the fact.

Why Concord patients choose Knox Valley Dental

Northshore has no shortage of good dentists for routine care. What Concord patients tend to drive to Kingston Pike for is something more specific: a cosmetic result that looks intentional without looking done, delivered by a clinician who trained beyond the standard credential and who will tell them the honest answer even when it is not the profitable one.

Dr. Zaveri's KOIS training and biomimetic philosophy mean he approaches cosmetic work differently than most general dentists. He is not trying to sell you a full-mouth reconstruction when a couple of veneers will do. He is not going to oversell the transformation or understate what the process involves.

Fort Loudoun Lake is ten minutes from our front door. The drive is short. The conversation is worth having.

Frequently asked questions

How much do veneers cost for Concord patients?

The cost depends on how many teeth you are treating and which veneer type fits your case. Every patient receives a written estimate at the consultation before any work begins. We offer third-party financing and our Adult Membership Plan, which includes 15 percent off cosmetic treatments.

I have done a lot of research online. Will Dr. Zaveri be annoyed if I come in with a lot of questions?

No — the opposite. Patients who have thought things through tend to have better consultations and clearer outcomes. Come prepared. He will work through every question.

Can I get veneers if I grind my teeth?

Potentially yes, but grinding puts real stress on porcelain and will shorten the life of your veneers if it goes unmanaged. Dr. Zaveri will assess the severity of your grinding and likely recommend a custom night guard as part of your treatment plan. If grinding is significant enough that it changes the recommendation, he will tell you that at the consultation.

Will my veneers look obviously fake?

Not if the case is planned and executed well. Dr. Zaveri shapes and shades veneers to complement the natural proportions of your face and the rest of your teeth. The goal is a result that reads as a better version of your own smile — not a uniform cosmetic overlay.

How long will the whole process take?

From consultation to final placement: two to three weeks in most cases. The lab work accounts for most of that time. If you have a specific date in mind — an event, a trip — mention it at the consultation and we will plan around it.

What if I only need one or two veneers?

That is a common situation and a reasonable one. Dr. Zaveri will assess whether a single veneer or small set can blend naturally with your existing teeth. Color matching is the primary challenge with small cases, and he will be direct with you about how close a match is realistically achievable.
