About Dr. Dhiren Zaveri
Dr. Dhiren Zaveri grew up in Knoxville. He spent part of his middle school years in India, where afternoons at his uncle's dental practice sparked a lifelong interest in the field. He came back to the US for his graduate studies, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, and then did what not everyone does — he came home.
He is a KOIS-trained dentist and practices biomimetic dentistry, which means his focus is on preserving your natural tooth structure rather than replacing more than necessary. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, attends multiple continuing education conferences each year, and has built a practice in west Knoxville that draws patients from across the metro area for cosmetic work.

Veneers work best for adults with healthy teeth and gums who want to address one or more of the following:

- Teeth that are proportionally smaller or shorter than the rest of your smile
Veneers are usually not the right starting point if you have active gum disease, untreated decay, very thin enamel, or a heavy grinding habit. Your veneer process at Knox Valley Dental
From consultation to final placement, veneers usually take two to three visits over about three weeks.
1. Consultation and smile design
You meet with Dr. Zaveri, discuss your goals, and he examines your teeth, takes photos and digital impressions, and walks you through what veneers can and cannot do for your specific situation. You leave with a plan and a written cost estimate.
2. Tooth preparation
Dr. Zaveri shapes a thin layer of enamel from each tooth receiving a veneer, using local anesthesia. Digital impressions go to the lab, and you wear temporaries while your final veneers are crafted. Most patients find the temporaries surprisingly close to the final result.
3. Placement
When your veneers return from the lab, Dr. Zaveri checks fit and color, makes any small adjustments, and bonds each veneer in place. The appointment typically runs one to two hours. You leave that day with your new smile.
How long veneers last and how to care for them
With good home care and regular dental visits, porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years — some patients keep them longer. To get the most out of yours: brush twice daily with a non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste, floss daily at the veneer-gum margin, avoid habits that stress your front teeth (chewing ice, biting nails, opening packages with your teeth), wear a night guard if you grind, and come in twice a year for cleanings and exams.
